[ quietly, owain gently nudges minerva so that she's out of his lap. once she's out (and i'm assuming still on the bed, watching this whole strange ritual of humans take place), owain is still for a moment longer before he kneels on both knees in front of gerome. he places both (BOTH!!) hands on his shoulders. ]

[ he doesn't raise his head or move from his spot on the ground. kneeling like this may be foreign to him, but he won't give up on it easily. besides, the posture has been burned into his memories. (minerva is still on the bed and absolutely thinks this whole thing is bonkers) ]

[ grips his shoulders tighter, shaking him slightly. ]

[ tensing immediately. he lets the hug go on for a few seconds before knitting his brows and roughly trying to push owain away. ]

... I never claimed they were. From the start, you were the only one using them as an excuse.
