Hm, a friend told me that all the other soldiers at camp found my general behavior rather creepy and ridiculous.

She later said that my [ deluded ] confidence and [ blind ] faith were some of my greatest strengths. I know the act drives most people mad but it's what helped me a lot growing up. Sometimes, it was one of the best ways to get through the days.

It's... a long and complicated story. The short of it is this: the world I grew up in was one filled with death and destruction. My parents, along with the parents of my friends and family, did what they could to stop what was going on, but they all ultimately failed. It fell to us to finish what they started and we didn't have many options, but we took the best one, to fix our world.

It's fine, I mean, my friends grew up in the same world I did and tell me the same things. But, it helps me remember.

Ghost stories have always freaked me out, and there's real ghosts here. It's hard not to get worked up.
